AMDG

AMDG is an abbreviation of ‘Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam’. This is Latin for ‘For the greater glory of God’. The initials AMDG have long been associated with the Society of Jesus. Pictures and statues of Saint Ignatius of Loyola often depict him holding a book with the letters AMDG written on it.
